These are a few of my favorite things.

I like to bake.

‘No joke’ you’re thinking. But I do like more than sugar – though its high on my list of favorite things. Along with raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens. Wait, thats someone else’s list. Mine actually goes like this (in no particular order)

Baking saccharine sweets and forcing them on unsuspecting pedestrians.

Trees – hence the giant one tattooed on my back.

Playing cribbage with my beloved.

Grocery shopping

Body Modification

Puppies

And the newest one, riding my bike. Or maybe just riding bikes because I’m prone to stealing other bikes from the fleet in our garage. This is an expensive favorite – much like my tattoos – and I want lots of things. Like this!

So I can easily transport my macbook to class (another favorite thing). If you’re as enthralled as me check out their flickr page for even more envy.

I also want one of theeeeeese:

That’s a Surly Cross Check in case you’re wondering. Surly make awesome bikes, they’re nice guys, and I’m enamored with this bicycle. Don’t ask me why, I just want it. A black frame, with orange fenders. I’ll name her Spooky (I actually dreamt of a bike exactly like this and yes it was named Spooky).

I’ve fallen in love with bike riding despite the fact that I’m rather exhausted after going downtown and back. Give me time and I’ll be out on those side roads outpacing farm dogs. Though I have a feeling I’ll take some dog treats with me and instead stop and make friends.

Alas, it will be a while before I can afford either of those. In the meantime I’ll get some new handlebars for my Motobecane. What’s that? I haven’t introduced you to the lovely Mary, Queen of Scots? Well how rude of me.

  1. OK – I confess – I had to google Body Modification because I wasn’t sure what it meant exactly. Like piercings and tatoos I know (obviously) but I’d never heard of Body Modification outside of getting fake boobs or a nose job done.
    I am enlightened!
    🙂

  2. Those bags are pretty sweet! I wish I could enjoy carrying messenger bags, but I hate them. :[

I’ve been lurking etsy for a good laptop sleeve. Most of them are for 13″ though! :[ There’s a store that makes them from reused coffee burlap sacks, and I know a seller in des moines does that so maybe I’ll ask her to make one for me.

    Cuuuute bike, by the way!
